We’re brand new to pool ownership with a Latham fiberglass pool finished in January. For most chemical additions/balancing I’ve used this site and Google/Youtube. Where I sometimes run into questions is if there are differences in how you add chemicals based on the type of pool? Is there anything different with a fiberglass pool? Honestly, I’m scared to do something wrong and ruin something somehow..

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum!
Not really. If anything, a fiberglass pool is very forgiving. Acid, chlorine, etc does not 'etch' or 'bleach' out the finish as it is a gel coat over glass. Still properly add each chemical as discussed in Recommended Pool Chemicals
I suggest you read through Pool Care Basics - Trouble Free Pool and even look at a few of our videos TFP-TV - Trouble Free Pool
When it comes to raising Calcium Hardness, I’ve seen some say to dissolve it in a bucket first and some say just to broadcast in the deep end. Is there a preferred method for fiberglass?

Broadcast in the deep and brush until dissolved.

All the recommended methods are here...have a read:
