OCLT good…but algae still in pool

I sleuthed last night. My skimmers have two fittings for pipes. One is connected, and the other is not. Its just a cavity. Well, one of them was FULL of crud.

The fountains are stone overflow bowls. Aside from scrubbing them, anything else I can do?

Do I have to scrub the Pump filter bucket cavities? The main filter housing?

If both light boxes were loaded w algae, i have to assume that at least some of the conduit running to them is also? Is there any way to clean that?
Not typically. Algae needs light to live. Behind a light gets enough. Haven't seen a SLAM fail because of conduit.
Would a full pool drain help? Does algae die w/o water?
Full drain is not going to help.

Pulled the Weir doors again. No loose algae visible, but they and the pump bowls are all stained brown? Nothing would come off via scrubbing, but muruatic acid took it right off the weir doors.

Pool has never been green/chunky/brown to cause such staining.

Not sure if this is related to the algae, so sharing JIC.

Autofill? Scrub the drains and lights again.

Can you take some pictures of the algae?

I also cannot see your logs. Are you using Pool Math? Make sure you are using the same login/pw as TFP, then gear upper right, scroll to bottom and Link from TFP.

No autofill. There is a fill port tied to the irrigation system, but it is well above the waterline and has not been used yet this year.

Here is a vid of the algae being stirred up

Edit; i pulled the drains and lights again yesterday. All clear.

The cleaner will actually help. It should not be a factor. You can pull for OCLT...but with visible algae.
You posted Wed. When did you start slam and how often are you testing/replacing?

Actually just found some crud on the cleaner. Brown stuff that looked like staining but brushed off w my finger. Will give it another cleaning and a bleach scrub in a rubbermaid bin.

Started may 15. Thought it was done may 18.

Restarted on the 20th.

Brushing 3 to 5 times per day
Checking FC 4 times per day; early AM. Noon-ish. Late Afternoon. Evening, after sunset
