Only the 2nd time we've opened above ground pool and after initial shock and algaecide pool was greenish yellow and cloudy. Shocked it a 2nd time two days later and got no change. Levels for everything were fine, and pool store recommended using flocculant to clear it up. Put it in and recirculated for 2 hours before shutting off for the night. not much change this moring, but the afternoon everything was clumping on the surface. It didn't help that we had thunderstorms and hi wind and a bunch of Crud blew in as well. Any ideas on how to get the floc off the surface? Will it sink if I just wait?

We rarely recommend using flocculant due to the problems you are encountering. It is difficult to clear it out of the water once added.
Start scooping out what is floating using a pool net. You can see what sinks.
We do recommend you stay out of pool stores. They suggest things they can sell you instead of what is in your best interests.
How many gallons are in your pool? Will it be easier to drain and refill than to deal with the soup you have?

about 17,000 gallons. really hoping to avoid draining. The most frustrating part is the water hasn't really cleared much either. My plan was to give it another day to sink, skim anything I can off the surface and then vacuum to waste. If that gets most of the Floc out then I'll test and then hopefully I can restart.
