Pump wiring with plugs waterproof plugs.

Hello,

I have two 5-HP pumps on my pool that are wired for 30-amps at 220-volts. I bring the pumps in each winter and I'm tired of disconnecting them. I'd like to replace the wire with a 30-AMP waterproof plug. Has anyone done this and is it okay to do? I got the idea from my boat which has 30-amp plugs.

As long as the 30 amp receptacle and plug are wired to code there should be no issues. Install it in a good weatherproof box.
