So I opened my pool this Tuesday by adding shock and pool rx. I have well water and last year when filling and shocking it turned green, bought metal out and it went back to clear blue. Bought pool rx to keep down on the chlorine usage and that also worked. After hurricane helene ripped the pool cover, we had other property damage that took precedence so we basically forgot about the pool until now. There were tons of debris, pine cones pine straw etc in the pool when I first opened it. Got it majority cleaned out. This is day 3 and the pool is a lighter blue color, but still cannot see the bottom. I have a test kit coming to check accurate levels. I have a 18x48 with a 1500 sand filter. Could pool rx be causing this?

No, lack of chlorination. Ditch the Rx. It add copper which can stain and sulfates that can corrode concrete and metals. Not recommended.

The copper PoolRX adds will accumulate in the pool water and can stain your pool, creating a larger problem to fix.

The metal out (sequesterant) temporarily hid the metals in your water. Contrary to the catchy name it did not actually take the metals out of your pool and its effects will eventually wear off if you don’t keep up on replenishing it.
If iron was the issue initially (common with well water) we recommend using the polyfill method to actually remove as much of the iron from the water as possible if it shows itself again at necessary fc levels before reaching for sequesterants.
Ditto on removing the poolrx - it doesn’t do anything except add copper which you don’t want.
*Until your kit comes you can add 5ppm worth of liquid chlorine each day (use
PoolMath to calculate this) this will keep things from getting worse until you can do the
SLAM Process properly as recommended above.
Nothing else.
The polyfill method can be done while doing the slam process so no worries about that if it happens to bring the iron back out.
