Do you have any pictures of before the pour? If the coping is pinned to the top of the bond beam it can be a real bear to remove. If not you can just cut it up with a chop saw and break it out. If it is poured in the same pour as the deck, you can cut back about 12"-14" from the coping edge, chop that out, and re-pour the coping.

I do a ton of cantilever coping with the Stegmeier styrofoam forms, all of it renovation work. If you post pictures I think I can give you some good guidance.
Hey, I am having to remove cantiliever coping from top of new pool for bad job. Customer is ok with repour of just 12-14 inches to make a separate border around the pool of cantilever, actually prefers it.

The reason this is happening is the previous concrete company both did a terrible job but also did not pour a bond beam, gravel to the top. They used steg forms with just the screws to hold the foam, concrete is just sitting on lip. I know many people have done it that way but we want it correct and also not crooked.

Any pointers ?

I imagine you have been here before.

We understand the concept, lots of cutting, cutting, cutting,

Do you use a jackhammer at all or a small hand held ?

Goal is to have a perfectly fine shell

Welcome to TFP.

Are you working on a gunite/plaster pool or a steel walled vinyl liner pool?

Pictures are needed to really give any specific advice.

If there is no rebar tying the coping to the pool shell, it should be easy to chop the coping up and pop it loose with a chipping hammer. If it is tied to the pool shell then there is a lot more labor involved.
