I just had the pool clear - or mostly with a little dirt from recent storms and getting cleared slowly, and another rain storm blew in this morning or last night and knocked more of these pods from the Chinese Pistache tree into the water. My readings from yesterday were:
Free Chlorine: 6.5, CC: 0.5, pH: 8.5, TA: 90, CYA:15, Calcium: 375, Salt:2400.
The pool has only been running a month since being shutdown due to the freezes we had this winter. Yesterday after the readings I added four bags of salt, 1 gallon of muriatic acid, and CYA per Pool Math (spaced out) and the water was looking great in the evening. Then today I go out to the Green Lagoon. Not sure if the chem balance in the water is allowing such a drastic change or was just overwhelmed by the flowers/pods. I might go out and shake all of them down as best I can since scooping them out daily is a pain.

I would post another full set of water test results now that you've added more chemicals. Let's see what you have to work with and go from there. Might be SLAM Process time.
Thanks
FC - 0~0.5
CC - 0
CYA - 40
Salt - 3200
TA - 60

Pool Math app said to add 4 lbs CYA, 5 Gallons chorine (25 target for SLAM), and 35 lb salt. There's a lot of dirt in the pool as well from the storms and sod work done around the pool lately.
The lady at the pool store didn't want to sell me the large bag of CYA when I said I needed 10 lbs. (7lb addition and leftover) so I grabbed a 7 lb bag anyway.

Leave the CYA alone. 40 is just fine for a SLAM. If you add more CYA, you will use more chlorine to SLAM.

If you can see algae, I'd start the SLAM. Link-->SLAM Process

If you want to confirm, do this test tonight. Link-->Overnight Chlorine Loss Test
You fail, you SLAM.

TX had a big transition in weather the past couple weeks between cold fronts followed by warm weather, storms, high winds, etc. I suspect algae started, hence the green and depleted FC level. Your water may still be a bit chilly, so if you start the SLAM Process right away, using liquid chlorine to maintain the proper SLAM FC level of "16" (based on the CYA of 40), you should bounce back in good time. Follow the SLAM Process page carefully for best success. Try to get the dirt out of the pool and focus on the FC level of 16. Any other chemical level changes can be done later. Good luck.

The green is from having no chlorine in the water. You don’t need more CYA.

Thanks - I did a SLAM and it's already getting cleared up. I think it was a sudden dump of all the pods from the tree along with the lower FC and CYA.
The dirt is the struggle now. My Dolphin usually helps this out, but is in the shop for new parts. Would more brushing and stirring up the dirt help it to get filtered through the system?

The previous day FC was 6.5. It dropped in one night to the 0 level. I also do not get the comments on not needing more CYA, when it is supposed to help retain the chlorine, and I'm using the Pool Math App to determine the range needed -> 60-90. It's a SWG pool. Adding more CYA makes the SLAM need more chlorine overall, but otherwise it will need the CYA for maintenance.

It can, but you might also have to go old-school and vacuum manually if you can. But yes, brush at least once each day. Also remember, seeing improvement is great, but stay vigilant with the SLAM Process. Follow it completely until you pass all 3 SLAM criteria for peace of mind.
