Last fall my sheer descent pump went belly up. Looking to get a replacement. It was a WhisperFlo 1.5hp WF-26. Can anyone recommend a replacement?

poolsupplydepot has this, Upgrade Option that proclaims to be a drop in replacement. Is this a reasonable option given what I had before? It seems as if the wet end of the old WhisperFlo is fine. Is there something esoteric that I need to examine on the wet-end to determine if it really is OK to accept the upgraded power-end?

Or Is there a better option I should be considering? Each sheer has it's own 2-way valve to control output. When running they are at least 2/3 closed so that the sheers don't act like Niagra Falls.

TIA

See this post for options...

If you go with the motor you purchased, you will need to upgrade the impellor...

You should confirm the impellor is included...
Read the post I linked...has impellors listed. You need to match the impellor to the motor. You should get a go-kit and replace the impellor screw also.

Given the below, I think its all there.

Upgrade your existing Whisperflo Single Speed pump to a Complete Pentair OEM Whisperflo VST Varaible Speed motor Powerend.

-Easy and simple install with removal of 6x 9/16 bolts & a drop in replacement with PowerEnd kit.
-New PowerEnd comes with new seal plate, Impellor, diffusor, seals & gaskets.
-Simple upgrade to varaible speed pump with OEM Pentair Motor and Drive.
-Replace your existing Whisperflo Motor with the Pool Supply Depot built PowerEnd with Pentair OEM Drive and Motor.
-Upgrade your Single Speed Whisperflo to NEW Pentair VST 2.6 Power End for more energy savings.
-To communicate with Pentair Easytouch, Intellicenter or Intellitouch you will need VST RS-485 Comm Cable, Part Number#356324Z.
