Clean and Clear Filter Top - Won't Seat

I just installed a new Pentair Clean and Clear 150 to replace my 100. I cannot, even with an assistant, get the top to seat on the housing. We can get it on about 3/4 but then it will slip off on another side. Lots of lube, even tried reusing the o ring from the previous filter. I would appreciate any tricks that will get this top on this filter so I can get back to relaxing. TYIA. BTW, I know it will go on because it was fully seated when I took it out of the box.
 
I'll answer my own question and give some info that might help another.

1. I just let the lid and gasket sit in the sun for a bit. Warned up nicely even on an overcast day. I wiped off a lot of the excess lube. Top slide on with no effort, issues, or leaks.

2. If you are wondering if the Pentair Clean and Clear 150's filter body is the exact same as the 100, the answer is YES. The difference is the lid and interior baffle are taller. So, I feel very confident that I could have kept the 100 and simply bought the baffle and lid. A savings of at least $500.
