Is 4 drops of R0014 the de-facto for pH?

After doing the FC test with TFPRO kit, I got 72 and 66 drops before it turned clear.
Nope, 10cc --> one scoop of that powder --> kept swirl thingy running --> added ton of drops to clear lmao
If your CYA is 50, you're well above SLAM FC. Turn the SWCG off and add some hydrogen peroxide to lower your FC.

Is there any effects to riding it out and letting it naturally drop if it’s not being used?

Another way you can raise the CYA to the 70 range with 4 lbs CYA and the the slam level is 28 so then the FC needs to drop down to that level which should happen in a day or two being it's unprotected.

1) there's alot of ways to skin this cat.

2) if you raise the CYA so the FC is appropriate, you'll have to maintain that higher FC going forward if SLAMing. If not SLAMing then you're just bumping the CYA a little early before the peak season hits.

3) there is risk to the liner by having the higher FC taking its sweet time to drop with low UV loss right now, but Mustard Algae protocol is to raise FC to 60% of the CYA (30 FC for 50 CYA) and let it drop naturally after 24 hours so IMO, it's currently no worse than the MA recommendation.

Since this post on Thursday, we are now down to 32 drops (FC 16) thanks to turning off the SWG, lots of sun in March and a rather large thunderstorm. Dropped over 16 ppm in 4 days, interesting.

The FC color is atleast 15.
Agreed… 15 or prolly above (being evident based on the FC test color being as dark as what a urine sample from Keith Richards would look like). I accidentally let my ph drift that high one winter when I forgot to dial back both my pump run time and the T-15 salt cell run time, during a long spell of low water temps that were just barely above the temp that would have auto turned off the salt cell output.
