125 - 250 PPB Phosphates...would you guys dump the PR-10000 in before season/filter cleaning or let it ride?

I don't test but maybe once per year for Phosphates...I didn't log it in PoolMath last time when I bought the test kit but I recall my numbers right in this same range. I'm probably at the 250 PPB but I'm not really used to the blue shades on this test so call it 250 to be safe.

No visible algae, PH, TA super stable and FC holds for weeks at a time in the colder water.

Whenever I tested last time (3-4 months ago) I purchased an 8 oz bottle of the PR-10000 concentrate...you guys think I should dump it in there for a couple weeks and see if it helps then clean the filter before I get everything going for the season and warm up the water?

Donnie, do you understand that PPB means Parts Per BILLION.

Most tests are PPM, Parts Per Million.

Do you realize how little 250 PPB is?

Only when phosphate get into the 6,000 to 10,000 PPB do we start discussing treatments.

As they say in NJ, fuggegaboutit.

Kudos on you for using your own kit though. :salut:

We can trust they are actually in the low 3 digits, and you have crazy wiggle room to spare. :)
 
I saw a great explanation recently on an old thread. It said treating phosphates was like putting all your stuff in storage so it doesn't get stolen if you leave your house open. Just lock the 🤬 doors instead. (Maintain a proper FC/CYA ratio).
 
Thank you guys. Yeah, that's why I put PPB...it's such a small number relative to the volume and in addition to that...I could have viewed the test wrong this time or last so I may not have gained anything anyway and or might even be at 125 ish ppb.

Super glad you guys said that!

I was dreading clouding the water up before I'm going to add these borates here soon and really see what that's all about!
