Struggling to manage PH / Alkaline levels

Hello

I have a Spatec 500G hot tub which i am trying to run with bromine.

I'm really struggling with keeping the levels balanced. This is my first hot tub and i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong.
The water seems to spoil constantly.

Upon filling i add 2 x hth spa bromine 20mg pastilles and some hth choc (sans chlore)

I was told to just chuck in an extra bromine tablet weekly and choc after each use. Is this correct? I'm worried i have had bad advice.....

When i test it the PH and Alkaline levels always seem to be at the lowest end of the scale and that if i add PH plus it just seems to ruin the water? I feel like i'm just constantly chucking things in and not really understanding what i'm doing!

Please can someone help / advise / point me in the right direction? I'd be really grateful.

Thankyou.

Here's the best advice on using bromine in a spa:
The MOST important point in the linked article is to have a good test kit. Using test strips is a recipe for failure. Good luck!

Haha. I've been going wrong from the start in that case!! Pesky test strips Amazing. Thank you so much.

I just want to check before i spend 70 euros..... This is what i need to use upon filling my spa?

And then as i intend to use a 3 step system i would
Use my choc (oxidiser)
And then i would add my tablets to a floater.

Can anyone tell me what "turning on the ozone" means?

Thank youuuuuuuuu

Are you set on using bromine?

I am not familiar with the product you linked. However, the English translation of the web page says it is Sodium Bromide powder. That is what you need to establish the startup bromine level in your spa. The 2 kg package would last a VERY long time as most spas require only about 50g at start up.

"Turning on the ozone" means: If your spa has a built-in ozone generator (commonly called an "ozonator"), use it after you've balanced the water chemistry. I assume since you didn't know what that meant, you do not have an ozonator in your spa equipment.

Until you have a good test kit, you're just making guesses about your water chemistry.
