Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

The Lowes price sound pretty cheap so check the manufacturing date code on the bottles. They may be pretty old. I found cases of 6 gal jugs at Wally this time so I bought one case of that instead of the usual 4 doubles. They had no doubles but they put lots of single bottles out.

My local Walmarts are all out of stock of the Pool Essentials. This is a bad development. Stuck with Pinch a Penny I guess.
My local Walmart is now back in stock. Grabbed 12 jugs last night. But in other news I have a Pentair Intellichlor IC-60 on the way, so my days of tracking LC prices are nearly behind me.

My hometown Rural King dropped their 10% down to 14.99 per case (4). Best deal so far, but I am not sure of the quality.
I’ve been using Rural King CDS brand 10% so since I went liquid chlorine this summer. It’s been spot on with my estimated numbers, sometimes a little higher. It seems pretty good. They also store it inside away from any doors or windows.

I get mine from Rural King too same brand and same price. Going to get a couple more cases this next weekend to get me through rest of season. Wonder what the price will be next Spring?

Went to my local Rural King today to pick up another case of LC. They lowered the price to $14.33 a case. So I got two😊. Manager said it is possible price will drop again in the coming weeks.

I have been purchasing my liquid chlorine from Home Depot for the last 6 or 7 years, and unfortunately, I have had very poor luck the last few months with the quality of their chlorine. A gallon of 10% chlorine usually raises my FC about 4PPM, but I have noticed that this hasn't been the case lately. It has ranged from 2-3 PPM per gallon over the last couple of months and this last batch that I bought (20 bottles) a gallon only raised it .75 PPM. I smelled the liquid and it barely has any smell to it. The bottles were date stamped at the 30th week of this year, which is about 4+ months old. Very disappointed. Just wanted to pass along a warning to others that get their chlorine at HD. My location is Tucson, AZ

HD isn't the best place to buy LC as they store it outside in the heat. And many times, especially late in the season, you are getting old stock.

You may want to check Walmart for Pool Essentials brand LC. It's usually stored inside. Here in the PHX area, they usually stock it year-round.

Also check for Hasa dealers in Tucson - E-Konomy Pool Supply comes to mind. The Hasa 4 pk of refillable/exchange gallons is 12.5%..
Find Where You Can Buy HASA Products | HASA - be sure to select Dealer - Retail (unless you have a business license and can buy from a Distributor like SCP.

A few weeks ago I finally got time to set up and start my swg. Was using about .5 gal per day of 10% now I just check the FC every other day to confirm settings. Yea!! No more jug lugging. LC prices have gone through the roof and swg units have gone up also but not as much. Net, net the payout is significantly better even when you don't consider how much easier pool care is... just say'in!
