White clumps in pump basket

Poured Muriatic acid on these and got fizzing. Is this scale or calcium. I recently added CYA on 07/01/24. Does CYA fiz?
Twice now it has been in the basket. Dark spots are from the dirt when I dropped it. It has uniform white color and very soft and chalky when broken up, easy to crush into powder.
