Return higher than Hayward skimmer issue

I replaced my best way 18’x48” pool with a 20’x52” Intex pool. I prepped the area and had it to within an inch all around. However when I installed the skimmer and filled the pool I now have the issue that the return is about 1” higher than 2/3 up the skimmer. Anyone have ideas on how to lower the return more into the pool? I attempted to lower the legs by the return but quickly realized that wouldn’t be possible as they are sitting on a 12”x12” paver that I sunk into the ground.

Are you saying the pool is unlevel & caused this? (It doesn’t look unlevel)
If not then all you can do is patch the current return & cut another in lower.
or just live with it, which is what I would do.
Its not really hurting anything - just may be aerating the water a little.
If you decide to swap it out to a standard jet size (instead of intex) there are several options for different eyeballs & various plumbing fittings you could rig up if you wanted.

I think the two or three supports by the return are maybe an inch higher than the rest of the pool. The pool is within one inch all around. When I widen the new footprint for the pool I guess I missed it.

How would you seal the current hole?

What would be a standard jet size?? Like the jet that came with the skimmer?? What are those options?

I wouldn’t manipulate the level of the pool to satisfy the return if the pool is currently adequately level.

Yes the jet that came with the skimmer is likely a standard size. They have normal threads & you can fashion a pvc male adapter and a 90 to screw into it instead of the eyeball to keep the flow below the water line.
As for patching the hole from the current return if the hole is larger than the standard one or you don’t want to put it there. You can use one of the hats/plugs that may have come with the pool (pushing from the inside out) & then also patch over that. Or go with the 2 patch method- 1 on the inside & 1 on the outside.
The hats are usually blue or black - many people accidentally throw them away.
