Hello TFP!
To preface this post I have purchased the TF-100 kit.
I’ve read all the basic care articles and everything about the SLAM. Ready to purchase large amounts of liquid chlorine.
To start here are my numbers. This is a 25k in ground pool in East Texas. I’ll attach pictures too.
FC- 0
CYA-~25
pH- 8.2
Calcium- 100
Alkinity- 140
Recently purchased this house and here is what the previous owner told me. Son had a chlorine allergy so they went with mineral system. Said to clear up pool/algae he would pour in several bags of shock once a week or so. Have had some issues with the pool like the lights not working, tiles falling off, and the bearings going out on the booster pump (which is why there is a dolphin cleaner on the side). Previous owner knew the pool had some issues so this was negotiated in the purchase price.
My questions.
Since this is a mineral system pool is the SLAM process less affective or even possible to do?
Looking at the system, is there a reason the pump is at 95% and the spa isn’t filling up and overflowing into the pool? You can see the picture of the fountain in the pool as well it is barely out of the water when it should be shooting out.
There are some obvious algae issues in the pool currently. The skimmers also have a brownish looking color on them that wipes off if scrubbed hard. Is that an algae issue as well?
Thank you for any help. This is a great site. Wish I had a SWG!
