I’ve been slamming for a week, scrubbing multiple times a day with a wire brush, grated with a trichlor puck and kept water circulating 24/7. What do I need to do?! It doesn’t even seem like algae as a wire brush doesn’t touch it but I can’t think of what else it would be. It has spread slightly to the lower level but not down the vertical surface. Everything else in the pool is perfectly spotless.

13.000 gallons plaster, pebble tec, cartridge filters, pop-up cleaning system.

Okay, well then, I wouldn't think the pebble is simply changing color on its own this late in the game. Not like that anyway. Any chance you did some decking work lately? Perhaps a chemical of some sort flowed into the pool and down the side of the deep end?

You might try testing an area with a Vitamin C tablet. If that doesn't work, maybe some dry acid in a thin sock.

Thank you. No decking work so on my end and I haven’t had any chemical spills. I do have landscapers so I suppose they could have but that doesn’t seem terribly likely as pouring into spray bottles would be done by their truck.

I’ll try out those tests and circle back. Thanks again!
