SWG Prepurchasing questions.

I have an 18.5 k pool that I had redone last summer. My initial thoughts are a CircuPool® RJ-30 PLUS.
Would this be the correct decision? I have no automation other than what my 24/7 pump provides

The mechanicals were done by me so I left a spot for an SWG, just after the heater bypass.

I also left an area for a control panel to be placed if used.

You did a great job pre-planning for the installation. As mentioned, the RJ45 is the right choice. I would recommend building a small shelter for the control panel to protect it from the weather and UV rays. Please complete your location.

Best wishes!

My pool also holds 16k gallons of water, similar to yours, and I also researched it to death. After many recommendations, I got the RJ45, and it's been working great. Like @PoolStored said, for $10, you're getting more production and control over your SWG.
Nice job with the piping and the board space, but definitely get some sort of shader for it. Keep in mind that the RJ45 can run at 220 or 110v, so make sure that you have the correct electrical supply.

How many amps does the rj45 plus use at 220v? I could probably connect it to my pump circuit if its low.
I have 100 amp service at the pool and all slots are filled. Both the pump (20 amp) and heater (60 amp) are on 220
Here it lists 0.75 amps at 240v; twice that for 120v. You want the salt system to be switched along with the pump because it makes hydrogen (think Hindenberg), which needs to be swept along to bubble out in the pool. There's a flow switch to turn RJ off if the pump stops, but relying entirely on that is not recommended.

I second genereleser's recommendation, as was said to me.
Despite the flow switch that you will install for the SWG, it continues to produce chlorine and hydrogen gas. If there truly is no flow, the gas will accumulate, expand, and possibly burst a pvc pipe or the swg.
So you want to make sure that whatever power source feeds the swg is the same one as the pump; both should be on or both off. Strive for that goal.

Anodes are misapplied to pools. They're a thing for salt water, the real salt water in the ocean. Somebody started putting them on pools and now it's a thing that shouldn't have ever been a thing.

NOAA, who knows a thing or two about oceans, says under 5000 ppm is freshwater, and the pool will be 3500 ish.
