Little Giant APCP1700 pool cover pump issues

Wondering if anyone can help me... yesterday I noticed that my Little Giant APCP1700 cover pump was not working... after some troubleshooting and dismantling... I noticed that the little white magnet bracket that activates the microswitch is broken... see pics... I have scoured the internet and haven't been able to find this piece. I just sent Franklin Electronics an email asking if it was possible to purchase this piece as I would hate to have to replace a $170 pump for a less than $.50 piece. To get around this... and get all the rain water off my cover... I had to bypass the microswitch... but this is not a long term solution... Anyone else have this issue? and were able to find the part? If Franklin cannot help me out... I will probably purchase a new pump.... pull the replace the part... and return the "defective" pump... I hate the thought of being that guy... but that's a lot of money for a defective plastic piece.

I have gone through a few of those pumps due to corrosion and GFCI trips. I have not had a float switch break.

Save your old pump and when this one goes I will send you the float switch. They don’t last forever.

Have you called them? They should cover this under warranty. The show the float switch as a part.

Thanks for your reply.. it's not that #2 float switch that is the problem... That switch has a magnet at the very top that slides in a sleeve. That magnet triggers the magnets that are inside of that white piece that is broken to trigger the microswitch. That white piece that holds the magnet is the piece that is broken. I have not tried to call them as this just happened last night. I will try them today and hopefully they will send one out.

My guess is they will send you a new pump.

Keep us informed.

Talked to customer service... They say that they cannot send that broken piece out.. they said that since it is 2 years old... that I should just return it to the store. But the problem is.. I don't have the receipt for it. If I purchased it through Amazon... they would just send me a new one.... but since I purchased at a brick and mortar store.. I have to go that route...

Take it back to the store.

You put it on a credit card? Does the CC have any extended warranty feature?

I do but my ACP pumps from Amazon.
