I have an auto cover that was installed when the pool was built 11 years ago. Time to replace the fabric.

I went back to the original installers that I'm really not happy with, but at least at the time, they were the only game in town and were recommended by the pool installer. Their costs are outrageous and they do poor work, in my opinion. Talking to the owner/boss is impossible if you want to discuss an issue. Their cost for replacement is $4240. That includes "maintenance", which is a joke. They spray water in the tracks (Which I already do every few weeks during the season), lube everything (Which I do twice a year) and replace the pulleys (Which is a 20 minute job if everything is already apart.) "Maintenance" cost me almost $500 back in 2017 to have two guys spend 30 minutes onsite. Probably double that now.

I found CoverSafe, but not finding much in terms of details/reviews on them. Their cost to replace the cover is $2875. No talk of maintenance, but I'm going to ask them to do the pulleys (Or at least what it would cost while everything's apart.)

Anyone have any experience with CoverSafe? Looks like a franchise and they make their money on service plans, which I won't be doing.

I replaced my Pool Cover Specialist pool cover a couple years ago and think that price isn't so out of range, to be honest?
For me to get service they drive 2+ hours, which costs a service call so getting everything tweaked properly and something we can't do ourselves easily seems reasonable. It is just one tech who comes whenever we need something though.

Average vinyl replacement is around $3k. All the original pool cover companies originated a few hours from my area, so we see all brands. PCS, Coverstar, APC etc are all roughly the same.

Ask them what brand they install. Coverstar by Latham and Pool Cover Specialists are the best IMHO.
