New pool cleaner for Katodude to review

How long a warranty would you expect for a robot in this category?

I would expect at least 3 years or with an option to purchase an extended warranty.

When something costs a couple of hundred dollars I don’t get mad when it breaks in a couple of year. Something that is close to $2000 should last quite a bit longer.

Even if it’s outside warranty, at least make all the spare parts available for purchase. That’s the one thing that ticked me off with Maytronics, the critical spares are specifically removed from circulation so you can’t fix it yourself. All other types of cleaners have spare parts lists that let you fix them yourself. But the robot world won’t let you fix the motor assembly, only buy new ones at astronomic prices.

This product is expensive for a reason, because it offers more features and a more convenient way of use compared to other products in the same category. This is what a popular online influencer friend of mine, who has a swimming pool at home, told me. I'm not comfortable revealing his name here. He mentioned having tried many pool cleaning robots, including Aquasense and Dolphin. He found that although Dolphin pool cleaning robots are cheaper, they do not cover as much area and often require additional purchase of a surface cleaning robot. However, this product can clean every corner of the pool. I'm not sure if what he said is true, but I have already ordered an Aquasense. I will try it out when it arrives to see if it's really that amazing!

Nah, there are a few now that claim to map out a pool. It is yet to be determined if mapping provides better cleaning. The item that intrigues me the most is the come to the surface and park near the edge dump the water and get ready for extraction.

Yes. Especially at that price point. Its one of the big reasons why I didn't pre-order.

You can buy 2 Betta SE Plus and 2 Aiper Scubas for less $$. Twice the cleaning power, longer warranty available. If this was in the $1k range it might be worth a try.

Well TFP family, wife and I are replacing a $160 second hand Kleen-a-Tron corded robot cleaner, that finally died. After hours of text reviews and hours of video reviews, we decided on the pro version, with discounts and 5%back (Amazon, and Amazon Chase CC) in at $1735.00
Will report back on findings, we have a lagoon style inground pool, with ledge and steps, so we will see how it performs.
