Spillway - spa water rising just above when pump is off

Could too much water in the spa be caused by a bad check valve? It used to drop just below the spillway and now it’s stopping just at it so water continues to make its way over - primarily on just the left side which tells me we might not be as level as we thought. How does it know where to stop exactly?? Right now it’s just automagically from my view 🤨 Anything I can check to try and resolve this?

This is odd as most problems we see, when the pump is off, is that the water in the spa drops..

That said, This happens when the spa is raised above the pool.. Do you have a raised spa, or is the spa the same level as your pool???

I can't tell squat from your pic... :(

Let's see a few pics of your equipment pad and a pics of the pool and spa so we can see how they relate to each other.
