White gritty film forming

Hello!

I’ve recently noticed a white gritty film appearing on any plastic components in my pool (i.e. pool vacuum, weir door, etc). I’m assuming it’s calcium build up, but my calcium hardness levels have been consistent around 250. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Could be the plastic breaking down from UV - if the white film isn't showing in the water/tile line, etc, that's my guess.

Your FC is criminally low for your CYA - make sure you don't let that get out of control as the warm starts warming.

Yes I added bleach to correct the FC. Ive been battling it all winter. I tested one of the white dust spots with a drop of muriatic acid and it began to fizz immediately. Calcium carbonate? I did add 4lbs a calcium chloride last month per pool maths recommendation. Not sure why this would happen though.
