Maytronics S200 ends up on it's back

I am on my 2nd S200 robot. The newest one ends up on it's back almost every day. The first one I had for several years did not seem to exhibit this phenomenon - rarely would I find it inverted.

Any ideas what might be causing this. They are nearly identical, except for the build dates.

Thanks.

If it’s under warranty you should contact maytronics.
There may be some weights/foam missing or something. You dont wanna go poking around if it’s under warranty.
The only time mine gets close to this happening is the steps or if the cable is too taught. It rights itself in short order though.

I will. I did reach out to Marina via email and they never responded.

I have looked at the parts diagrams and the old one and have not seen any floats or foam. But it is like clockwork, every cycle it ends up inverted and stays that way.

Part #12 is a float
& part #18 is a weight
May check that they are in properly

Some have been able to restore proper function by “resetting” the motor - it can be misaligned from the factory or over time.

Thanks. Although I have repaired these Matronics cleaners a few times I never noticed the float (on the right upper side next to the motor) or the weight (upper rear behind the basket). Both are in place on both my old (S200) and new (Active20) cleaners.

Still, the new one ends up inverted every single day.:(

That means it's related to the pump motor having a diminished suction, basically the suction keeps it on the wall. It can be from junk wrapped up around the propeller where the water exits. Another option is a clogged debris filter even though it doesn't look dirty it may have an oily coating which won't let the water freely pass through it. You can remove the filter and see if it climbs the wall.

I have checked the impeller, the impeller "exhaust" stack, and now using only the rough filter (which is clear). This newer A20 still ends up on it's back after every cycle, unlike the S200.

Considering what home remedies to aid in "buoyancy orientation" I can come up with, but it seems to need help with positive buoyancy topside over the rear roller area. Weird I know.

Sounds like u have checked everything. Sometimes duds happen. Is it too late to return it? Definitely Try calling Marina on the phone around 10am their time. You know how that style bot should work in your pool since you’ve already had one so it seems like a flaw with the bot.

Yeah, it is weird. I took out the "ultra fine" pleated filters and installed the mesh "fine" filters and pulled off the "non-return flap" and it ends up upside down only 25% of the time - must be something related to this motor's inherently weak suction. Hmm.

Watching the pool surface I see no difference in the amount of surface action from the upward suction blast, but it is what it is.
