Howdy y'all, I'm buying a home with a pool - my first ever. My inspector noticed an issue, and I haven't yet been able to get a pool company out there to inspect. Thought I'd reach out to you experts here to get your opinion.

He says: "Looks as if pool pump may be drawing a bit of air from plumbing. Sight glass shows bubbles and sounds of air movement can be heard at filter and plumbing near pump. This may indicate a broken pipe in the system or a leak. Seek further investigation and make all repairs."

Might it be a big problem? How much should I budget to fix this? I've attached three images here, and here's a brief video of the pump (I think you have to manually un-mute):
I think I also want to replace both pumps with variable-speed ones to reduce noise. The local pool supply company quoted me $5,000.

Thanks! Hope to learn more from y'all in the coming months!

Welcome! If air is actually getting in to the system, it means there’s a leak in the suction side of the system. It could be a broken fitting (caused by snow-magedon that happened a couple weeks ago or a couple years ago in the big Texas freeze)

Check all the above ground equipment to find the leak in maybe a fitting in the exposed pipes leading into the pump and hope it isn’t underground as that is way more money.

Do you know what the orange arrow at the equipment pad is pointing to? I see some discarded broken pvc in that vicinity so maybe there was a leak they fixed or tried to fix.
