Potential Problems with New Pool Build?

Hi Everyone!

I am a first-time pool owner and our pool is about 90% complete, we are just waiting on spray decking. I have noticed some things that look like they may be problems but want to double check with the experts. Our "pool school" was a joke, so TFP has been instrumental in learning how to do things.

Thanks in advance!

Skimmer
I noticed that the two skimmers have what looks to be a different part installed. The one on the picture on the right has a black plastic piece on installed over the whole the suction hole and the one on the right does not have that piece. Should these both be the same or did they forget to install a part?

Gashes in Plaster
I've noticed these gashes in the plaster, it's not noticeable during the day but it's very easy to see at night when I have the pool lights on. It's hard to tell from the picture, but there are a lot of these gashes in a specific part of the pool. Is this normal to see in plaster?

Black Spot in Plaster
This is another one of those hard to see things, but that black spot is an imperfection in the plater. I confirmed that by getting into the pool and diving down to take a closer look at it. That black spot is divot, and it doesn't seem like something I can just brush or clean out. Is this just a normal defect or something to be concerned about?

Cleaner Tube Length
The tube for the pressure side cleaner doesn't extend all the way across the pool, should the tube have been cut longer or is it ok at the current length?

Rust on Gas Pipe
I've ran the spa heater 3-4 times and have noticed rust on the gas pipe. I am guessing it is due to the pipe being right next to the exhaust. Is this something to be concerned about?

Your skimmers are fine. Looks like one skimmer has the main drain connected to it and the other does not. Hard to know for sure without details of your plumbing.

Your plaster is fine. Those are normal imperfections.

The cleaner hose is too short. You just need a length of hose and a coupler or swivel to extend the hose. The cleaner installation manual will show you what the correct hose length is.

Make a slit in a piece of PVC and slide it over the gas line to protect it from condensation dripping from the heater exhaust. Use a bit of silicone to hold the PVC on.

SKIMMER, it may be that a piece was left inside the skimmer. When pressurizing the plumbing system a loop is installed on the skimmer (see picture), the two pipes are threaded into the ports and possibly one was left installed.

Most imperfections in the plaster surface will show up when the pool is illuminated. Typically only cosmetic and not structural. This is not normal in my opinion but unfortunately is common.

The black spot also appears to be a cosmetic issue more than structural one depending on its depth.

Rust on gas pipe is not common and may not be caused due to the heater exhaust. I have included some pictures of other institutions.IMG_5074.pngIMG_5075.pngIMG_5076.png
