we have a spa and two connected koi ponds. Each has a light.
Two separate junction boxes.
One of them has had this loose copper ground wire (presumably) running up to it, but not attached to anything and it’s been a concern to me for some time. Contractor who did original work went out of business.
I dug out the dirt from the planter where it is and it just follows the PVC electrical conduits to under the nearest koi pond.
The box has a nice big, fat ground wire coming up out of the conduits alongside with each light circuit wire bundle and all are connected to the bus bar. The electrical source feed likewise has a ground wire coming out and doing same.
So all that appears to be correct.
My question is what is this external copper (ground?) wire and how should it be terminated- to the external lug on bottom of junction box ???
Should I enclose it in something? Or is okay bare and in the ground?
I’m thinking it must be connected to the rebar inside the koi pond / spa structures???
Thank you!
