Pool vacuums

I have never had an algae problem like I have had this summer. I finally killed the algae but now I need to vacuum up the dead stuff. I don't know anything about manual pool vacuums so I've been looking on Amazon. There are suction side and pressure side vacuums and don't know which one to get. I know my Polaris is a pressure vacuum but it isn't helping much right now. I keep cleaning the cartridge and lots of white milky stuff comes out but the pool is still very cloudy. I'm thinking that a manual vacuum will help to get more dead algae out of the pool faster so I can see what's on the bottom. I'd like to know more about these things and suggestion about ones that won't break the bank.

Your filter will easily pick up dead algae cells. But if you're seeing lots of dead stuff, it's likely because you still have an algae issue (can be invisible until dead).

Did you follow the SLAM Process and do you have/use a proper test kit? Test Kits Compared I see you mention K-2006.

I think you likely have a chemistry problem, not a cleaning problem.
