Hi all,
Building a pool / spa in the Tampa area and ideally want to chill the pool in Summer. The pool builder suggests a heat / cool pump which requires 80A power and will be crazy expensive to run. I'm thinking of installing a Glacier pool chiller but the high humidity may not allow this. Any thoughts or experiences welcome. Thanks in advance

Are you putting a cage over the pool? It's amazing how much that knocks down the sun. My pool in FL easily stays 7-10 degrees cooler than my pool in GA without a cage.

Also, do a search here on sun shades. They can look great and really help to cool the pool down. Put them up in the summer, and take down for the colder months.

I ran our Glacier chiller for the first time this summer in our new pool in the hot, humid Lake Charles, LA climate. My wife and I swam almost every day in the July/August heat and it consistently pulled the water temperature down from the low 90’s at the end of the day to the low 80’s the next morning. By the afternoon, the water temps were in the mid-80’s which were perfect for us. I ran the chiller from 8PM to 8AM every night. The chiller has worked out perfect for us. Good luck.
