Hi!
I am located in central NJ and looking to have an inground vinyl liner pool installed. Got a price from a PB and wanted to see what you think of this quote.
-25’x40’ contemporary pool - $53,500
only a small section of the pool is actually 25’, the main pool is 20’ width

-4 deck jets - $1900
does brand matter? Brand isn’t listed.
-Hayward salt system - $2400
-50’ of electrical and grounding - $2400 - $10/ft over 50’
-Octal filtration and circulation system/Robotic Pool Cleaner/Blue Zebra Automation - $3600
The octal filtration and circulation system adds:
2.25 multi speed pump(possibly Super Pump XE) vs 1.5hp pump
350lb sand filter vs 300lb
2 skimmers vs 1
Dual bottom drains
8 returns vs 2
2” plumbing vs 1.5”
I would need to confirm the make/model of the pool cleaner. Is it worth keeping this package as is for now. If not what pool cleaner and automation is recommended?
-3 ambient color changing led lights - $2400
1 additional light - $990
No mention of brand of these lights, does it matter much? If we extend the pool to 50’ I would add a 5th light.
-IBEX X-Brace Method - $4500

Anyone familiar with this option? This package upgrades:
3000psi footing vs 2500psi
2” pvc vs 1.5” flex pvc
Fiber reinforced floor
35% thicker liner
This also improves the warranty a bit:
50 yr material warranty (removal, freight, and reinstallation included)
20yr non pro rated liner warranty
5 yr accidental damage warranty
2” plumbing warranty as long as you own your pool if they winterize every year.
Total price $71,690
Permits and engineering will be about 2-3k on top of the quote.
This price includes 3’ of stamped concrete around the pool. Looking at their pictures, all use these thick white plastic expansion joints in the concrete vs saw cuts. Are these better even though they don’t look nice? I am considering doing pavers instead of concrete because I am afraid of cracking that I’ve seen in quite a few new pool patios.
I am considering extending this pool to 50’ and was told it would be an extra $5000.
Additional questions:
-All the returns are connected in 1 single line, is it worth it to separate them? My thought is that it would help if there were a leak in the future, all plumbing is warrantied so maybe its not that big of a deal?
-If we don’t extend the pool, the PB mentioned doing a 6’ or 7’ deep end to extend the shallow end. At the original 40’ length, the shallow end is only 8’ before it starts to slope down. Any issues with adding a slide later on if we go with a 6’ or 7’ deep end? PB says no, but has anyone regretted not going 8'?
Anyone other suggestions or things I should clarify with them would be appreciated. Thank you!!
