Welcome to TFP.

I would not do an acid wash.

White Spotting of New Plaster Pools The problem of plaster spotting has been an ongoing puzzle and controversy in the swimming pool industry for over three decades. The generally round, smooth-yet-unsightly white soft spots in new plaster pools have long been a source of contention among pool plasterers, and pool chemical service firms or pool owners, each blaming the other for the phenomenon.

Hi, what type of plaster? Regular? Pebble? I have regular plaster, new pool put in last summer (2022). My plaster looked way worse than yours last July - the builder said an acid wash would help...made it worse! I would not do an acid wash or hot start. My plaster now is more rough, pitting, and is collecting dirt very easily. We are having it chipped out and re-plastered with pebble. I hope your outcome is better than mine - yours doesn't look bad though?

I don’t see anything out of the primary, maybe it’s easier to see in person. Colored plaster just has that appearance I suspect. My families pool as a kid was very dark plaster 40 years ago and it has slight discoloration after it was replastered a couple years ago.

pool start up company did hot start

It’s a quartz finish that was hot washed 5 days after pool was fool recommended by pool contractor and done by pool start up company now the want to buff it out or try
Oh ok, My apologies, I don't know if the quartz is a different type of product, where you can hot start it and buff it out. I know with my regular plaster it made it worse.
