Looking at robotic cleaners

amy,

Marina does not have thousands of employee like Leslie's...

I imagine they stay pretty busy.

I have always just called.. they open at 10 am Colorado time, so I like to call at 10:01..

I have three pools and have been buying Dolphin robots (and parts) from them for a few years. They recently started carrying the EVO robot.

Here is my review... New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

Thanks,

Jim R.

Yep, read your review. Likely going with the EVO. But probably skip the wifi version, i won't be scheduling it, will be removing it to shed after ever cleaning. No way husband would tolerate seeing a robot in the pool continuously. I have my trusty little red wagon for transport.

How long is power cord from power supply to outlet?

Amy,

The power cord is short about 5 or 6 feet long.

One of the reasons that I use robot cleaners is that I can't stand to see it in the pool.

Your red wagon should work just fine. Mine sits on a couple of 2 x 4s, to hold it off the ground, under the eve of the roof. Kind of out sight and out of mind.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Contacted Marina pool and spa, initially with thoughts of explorer e30 or Nautilus cc but after reading your review, the 604 as i didn't plan to leave the robot in the pool. But than Margaret suggested the 614i as it has a lift function that even yet 85 years old mother can use by herself. Sold! Wi-Fi will be a bit of a pill - there isn't any out there. But in certain places i can get cell signal quite close to the pool electric so i can use my phone as a hot spot for the robot and download the app on my old phone. At least that's the plan. We shall see. Internet connectivity is an ongoing battle out here.

So thank Jim R you for posting that review! Saved me a bit of cash.

But than Margaret suggested
She is *really* out to help the customer. After reading it many times, she talked an IRL buddy of the expensive model. Then she did it to me personally. Seriously who does that ? She had both to sell, it wasn't like she was pushing the one she had on hand.

I chose to wait, but I won't entertain using anyone else when the time comes.

Best wishes with yours.

Thanks. Hoping it takes care of my back problem - i have lumbar stenosis and arching my lower back puts pressure on the spinal nerves in that area. The vacuum pole is long, I'm short, my pump has great suction despite being from the early 1990s and i end up wrestling that pole with my back doing all sorts of gymnastics. By the time I'm finished, my legs don't want to work and next day i have never pain down my legs.

But i love my pool, just sitting beside it, sometimes is enough. And on a hot day with the granddaughter, nothing like lounging on a float while she becomes a mermaid.

She does get quite busy. Try emailing - that was what I did when I was on the market for the kulbot.

I did email. She got back to me this morning, evo614iq ordered. She sold me when she said it had a lift function that her 85 yr old mother can use. Wi-Fi connection might be a problem, none out there, hoping i can use my phone as a hot spot there. There's 2 places around the pool where i can most of the time get an ok signal. Fingers crossed.
