New pool owner here. This site is great...I appreciate all the information! Just purchased a house with a 10,500 gallon, SWG, pebble tech pool (along with a Taylor 2006C test kit). Just finished my first reading (was taking it to Leslie's while waiting for the kit to arrive). I THINK I'm ok with the results but the CH is a little low (kinda concerned with the amount that pool math is telling me to add).....I would appreciate some input from you just to make sure I am doing this right. Thanks so much!
FC - 6.4 (High)
CC- 0.2
PH - 8.0 (Just added 1 cup of muriatic acid to bing this down slightly)
TA - 120
CH - 280
CYA - 40
Salt - 3200

Welcome!

Hove you perused Pool School?

Please fill out your signature with details about your pool and equipment.

Check out the chart for your cya/ fc

Most with swcg keep the cya 70 or so. Depends on daily loss.

Read this, and the other great articles on Pool School.

Regarding adding chemicals, I think about what pool math is telling me to do, and if it seems off, I double check everything. Then when Im sure about test results, I add a little at a time and test a few times, to sneak up on a recommended value.

I think your numbers look pretty good aside from a low CH and no concern on the FC given your CYA of 40. I would, however, get your CYA between 70-80 since you have a SWG. Keep your pH in the 7s. When it hits 8 or above, add the appropriate amount of MA per PoolMath.
