I've thought about this before when taking about things I've learned here, thought about it again while thinking about issues addressed here, but sometimes when I'm talking about how pool store water testing can't be trusted and how they just want to sell you potions, and then more potions to fix the problems the previous potion caused...

Well, it just sorta feels like I'm in on some kind of conspiracy theory thing! Like, I've "done my research" and Larned something that "they" don't want people to know!

Except for the part where I have been able to learn how to take care of my new-to-me pool with the knowledge I've learned here, really, honestly almost trouble free!

I threw in some magic shock potion the pool store sold me back in early April as I was anxious to get things going, and did buy some of their overpriced salt then too, but that is it! Around the time I had to cancel them coming out to help me open the pool, I found this site, and never rescheduled!

Welcome to Oz.

Trust your test kit.

Stay out of the pool store.

It is a business model that favors the Pool Store (ugh...I can't believe I wrote those two words in a post), not the pool owner.

Sincerely,
PoolStored.

If you have found value, consider becoming a supporter...

Considering TFP has some very detailed chemistry threads and discussions underlying all that it is that TFP proposes, one can hardly call TFP “nutty” -

But when you go into a Pool Store and ask them to prove what it is they are saying, at the very best all you’ll get is some mumbling response about the EPA and CDC and how they have CPO training and blah, blah, blah …

I can't help but wonder if you've noticed that I live a half a mile from the Oz museum?

Anyway, don't worry, I'm fully bought in on trusting the test kit and staying away from the pool store!

(Well, unless I need something for my fireplace. It seems like the stores in my region "specialize" in pools and fireplaces. Though I didn't even buy our fireplace from the local place, as they couldn't get it in as quickly as the place next town over.)

We found ourselves in your wonderful little town last summer of vacy. It was WONDERFUL!! We loved the OZ museum and the cafe across the street with the daily made bread=SUPER YUMMMMM!

And yes it is *hard* to believe can be just this easy! When my husband found this website I bought the test kit BEFORE buying the pool to make sure I could really do the test on my own. I could and they were fun to do! Cue new pool delivered the next week LOL
