I am working on the pool lights and got everything else done to finish my pool owner/builder. I have ran the spa and pool light to the Intermatic J Box. I am not sure how to connect them correctly to the J Box and then what I need to do from there. Do I need to run it it a transformer and then to a switch? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Correct.

Did you buy a Pentair or Intermatic pool light transformer?

The transformer has taps for 12v, 13, & 14V. Depending on the length of the pool light wire use the tap that will give 12 volts at the light.

What type of switch are you using?

That is what I thought. So I do need a Pentair transformer that would tap for my 12V lights. I will probably get the pentair switch so I can at least control it with bluetooth. So that is why they lights are not working. Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.

Okay, I have attached the Pentair transformer. I have a color sync controller. Everything works but I have no lights? I have power coming in to the transformer and I have checked the wires going in. The black and white wires on the transformer is showing power but coming out on the colored wires of the transformer shows no 12V power going to the light? I am not sure what is going on? Any suggestions? I

Post pics of your transformer wiring.

What wires are you trying to measure 12V on?

You have your multimeter to measure AC volts?

I am trying to measure 12V on the right side. The wires on the right side of the transformer are my light wires (black and White) I got no read. The red wire on the left side is coming from the Pentair sync switch to the black transformer wire. All the white wires are connected. The power coming from the breaker is coming in the transformer box but only to connect to the Pentair sync switch. It’s all grounded. The Pentair sync switch turns on and there is power there but no lights

1. At no time was the 12v light hooked straight to the breaker?
2. Presuming black is going from the breaker to the color sync controller line screw, red from colorsync sontroller load screw to transformer black, Do you have 120v from neutral to red?
3. Did you try and bypass the colorsync controller to confirm the transformer functions (ie black from breaker straight to black on transformer)
