We had issues with our pool plaster when it was first installed in November 2022. There was a lot of clouding on the pool surface (SCP StoneScapes - Puerto Rico Blend. We finally went with an acid bath(?) by the pool builder. The surface looked fantastic.

It is now two weeks later and the white is back with a vengeance. What is going on?! We are pulling our hair out. We should have NEVER built a pool. This is insane.

Photos attached:

During and immediately after install, after acid bath, and 2 weeks later (e.g, today)

did the PB provide you any reason what the issue was and why an acid bath would resolve it?
Does it come gradually over time or does it appear quickly.
Have you tested your water - what are the test values?

What was the temperature and weather when your plaster was installed?

@onBalance may have thoughts.

You can try sanding an area with 80/100 grit wet/dry sandpaper and see what change you get.

Did you ever get the bottom of this issue? We are having the same problem, our PC did a no drain acid wash and it looked great for about a week also and then come back pretty much all at once. We think it was due to calcium being added to the plaster when applied. Our pool was a re-plaster not original but that shouldn't matter.
