Lining up some palm trees for around the pool. Talking with the nursery, they said they would suggest planting the trees and doing any irrigation work after gunnite is completed and prior to the rest of the pool being completed. They said this way everything is in place before the pool builders do their final grading work.

Do you all agree with this logic or think it's best to just wait until the pool and decking is completely finished?

Wait until the pool build is complete. If any work needs to be done (equipment driving over area, redo plumbing line, compaction, etc.), then it will not affect the sprinkler lines. Also, you cannot set the heads until the final grade anyway to get the proper height.

While your yard is torn up, think about strategically installing landscape lighting wires, GFCIs, speaker wires, extra conduit, etc.. Take pictures of all the trenches.

If the landscaping/irrigation are big enough jobs to need machines, you'll want them driving around while it's still a construction zone and not across your brand new patio.

Also, make sure to trench any electric/plumbing that crosses the areas which will be hardscaped. I did those mid project and then finished the rest of the open yard after the fact.

All ways plaster last.
Is this a necessity? I'm in the same predicament. Our pool will likely finish in January or February, coldest part of the year for us and I'd rather not plant and risk a hard freeze. My plan was to finish pool, then landscape and repair irrigation afterwards in case our zones need to be adjusted for the new plantings.

I’m in an area that doesn’t experience freezing temperatures so it’s not really the same impact with landscaping. The reason I like to advise plastering till the latest possible time is so the possibility of other trades harming the new finish with any thing from their work being performed is at a minimum.
