New here although I have searched and read this forum for a while. I have an unground pool and the pump is leaking (motor is still running). I can identify the motor Century 2511047-011, but ther is no label on the rest of the pump. I was hoping to try annoying/gasket kit but now way to order without identifying the pump. See attached

Whisperflow with a V-Green2.7 that either has the control remote mounted or an automation adapter. And, it has/had a severe seal leak.
Thanks. The control is mounted in the wall. It is a major leak but interestingly only started in thanks week or so. It does look like maybe it had leaked once before based on paint pealing off bottom of motor. I did see a date code molded into the housing that seems to indicate it is from 2004. I will try the kit and see if that works. Hopefully there are no other major issues. Pump is still running and pumping water but not filling up the filter under the clear top.

I suggest getting after it. My WhisperFlo must have had a tiny unnoticeable leak for a long time. When it shed a few drops (just a damp spot) and I checked, the seal plate and two motor mounting lugs were so badly eaten up I had to replace the plate and shim the motor with washers to get it running. It held a couple of months, long enough for a new VSP to arrive. Phew.

Now I know the tell was paint peeling off the motor bottom just like yours.

I was surprised. What must have been just a mist of water caused all that damage.

An 18 year old VSP, that is a long life. Don't know why they discontinued that motor.

Yes, if it is that old I am wondering if it is worth replacing seals and possibly all the other parts or if it is better to replace the whole thing. Thoughts? Recommendations on a new VSP that won’t break the bank?

It is a major leak but interestingly only started in the last week or so.

There is algae growing in the wet spot.

That only happens after a long time.

It has probably been leaking for months at a slow rate.

In any case, an IntelliFlo with the same unions should be the easiest replacement.

If the motor runs with no bearing noise, just replace the seal, gasket, etc. It will last a good long time. If the motor is noisy, new pump might be in order. I have always been a "fix it if you can" repair service.

I just wanted follow up here and thank everyone for the help. I ordered a seal kit amd replaced everything and no leak! System is running good. I do have a question about how my booster pump is being controlled - runs randomly- but I will creat a new post for that.

If the conduit from the booster is going into the filter-pump motor, it is being controlled by an auxiliary relay in that motor. See page 20 of the attached manual.
