Hello,
I bought a new home, and this pool is much more complex than my previous. I am running the aqualink system. It has freeze protection, but my concern is how to keep the spa blower plumbing from freezing? You can't run the blower constantly, and water backs into the plumbing to a certain degree from what I understand. I don't visually see a check valve on the blower PVC exposed either.
Secondly, you can see in the pic included (one in normal operating valve configuration and one in how I found to best run pool/spa concurrently since my app will only run pool or spa with the automatic valves installed) that the automatic valve to the right is closed to the left. That is the spa return that is closed. The open side is in floor drain in pool. If I open this to the center (both valves open 50% like the left automatic valve is configured in winter pic), it drains the spa. Thus, it's closed, but concerned there is water in the PVC that could freeze since it is exposed above ground. Idk if there is a better way to do this lol.
Any thoughts on these concerns? I maybe overthinking, but trying to avoid any damage I can. Temps get into the teens generally in winter. I run my pump 24/7, but concerned with trying keep water running through pool and spa equally in winter. Included pics of pool/spa and equipment to better help see what I'm referring to. Thank you for any help or advice!
