Why does it seem like my CYA is always low?

So I've been fighting keeping up with my chlorine levels and every couple weeks I've been adding a jug of liquid to just keep up. In the beginning of July I put in 4lbs and in September I put in another 4lbs of this Stabilizer however I checked it again yesterday and basically measured zero on my test kit. That said, I am in South Florida and we did just experience 3 days of straight rain due to hurricane Ian so I am not too surprised its dropped.. it just seems excessive.

My main problem is even with my SWG at 100% I will slowly get too low of FC and need to add liquid which then spikes my FC to like 15 rather than what it should be of 3-5... This balancing act is getting old, especially cause up until this year I've been able to maintain my FC levels with just the SWG and I don't think I've ever been above 95%

I did a overnight FC loss test last night and had almost nothing lost, so I dont think I have an algae issue. I have also recently cleaned my SWG cell.. (it was pretty bad) but it cleaned up nicely.

Should I add another 4lbs of this stabilizer? Is this just a bad brand? Should I try something else?

FWIW I measured my chemistry last night at 7pm and this morning at 6:30am

7PM:
FC 14.6
CC 0
PH >8 (I added a few ounces of Acid)
TA 80
CH 400
CYA 0

6:30AM
FC 14.2
CC 0
PH 7.6
TA 80
CH 400
CYA 0

On a side note, I have real bad copper staining and I am preparing to use Jacks Magic to treat it but I've been waiting for the water to get too cool to swim in... I suspect after I do the treatment I will need to drain the water out.. should I even bother with the CYA at this point?

A few questions:
1) How old are the reagents in your test kit? Odd results can be related to test liquids being out of shelf life.
2) What was your CYA level before the recent zero reading? How long between "normal" and zero CYA?
3) How old is your SWG? Sounds like it may be nearing its end of life.
The torrential rain can certainly be blamed for a portion of your CYA drop.
