The line with the red handle is my spa drain. They came last week to blow the lines out and now I’m seeing water in the pump.

It kinda a looks like the red handle may not be closed all the way. Should I close it more or now if I’m seeing water does that mean all the air bled out of the system?

The red handle needs to be perfectly 90 degrees to be closed. They did not close it properly.

I would have them come back and blow out the line again.

@ajw22 would it be worth swapping out that valve for a 2 way neverlube or hayward valve?
Seems that last little bit is stuck. Im guessing they will have to play around with it when they come back.

I always recommend using diverter valves, not ball valves. You are seeing the problems with ball valves.

All your ball valves should be replaced with diverter valves.

Jandy, Hayward, Pentair, CMP diverter valves are all the same. Use whatever is available and most cost effective. Check that O rings and rebuild kits are readily available for the diverter s you use.

Yeah they just came back and blew out the line. The handle snapped on the valve. So he used a lock jaw to close it. I made sure it’s all the way closed now. Will be replacing it myself in the spring. Not really sure why they also put a valve on the return for the spa pump. Can’t really see a reason to close it off.
