Installed skimmer's throat too long - options?

For some inexplicable reason my pool company's installed a skimmer whose throat is too large for the agreed coping width.

My pool design was supposed to incorporate 30cm coping around the edge (essentially the width of the concrete you see in the pic) but in their infinite wisdom my installer has decided to install what's circled below, meaning I now need to extend the coping to a minimum of 60cm to encompass the skimmer lid.

Concrete has already been poured over the rebar so this seems to be pretty "set in stone" now.

Do I have any other options other than asking them to rip it out?

Thanks. Yeah I had considered that but it seems to spoil the overall aesthetic of the pool design (blue box drawn in the bottom right below).

Are the above pictures of your own installation? How does it look overall?

Haven't decided yet, but if it makes a difference to your question it won't be surrounded by decking all the way round.

My decking's to the left - the large check pattern where the letters 'DN' are. To the top, right, and bottom you can see the "triple" green lines - that'll be grass. The grey shaded area with the '300' is a 300mm wide 150mm high pool edge where the coping will be.

Those are pictures of a job I did in 2019. I don’t think it’s going to take away from the over all look you are going for.

Those pictures are really helpful, thanks! I do agree that's not too bad when looking from the opposing corner.

Though given my pool surround is 15cm above grass level all round it does make me wonder if it will exaggerate the "box". Your photos are better than nothing though!
