I just made a small solid concrete technically above ground pool next to my causal dining tv room. have been using above ground pools for years but tired of them rusting out or sun baking. We use it about 6 months and some use it 12 months. I designed it such that later I can insulate and heat it in the winter. winter temp is about 70-75 degrees outside day time.
Pictured here is me delivering a custom pineapple and pepperoni pizza to my unofficially adopted son who helped me apply the epoxies to the solid concrete pool. Ya this is the second day of adding water and first time we ate in the pool, and last. Man was that epoxy hard to apply fast enough in this heat.
Some ask why a pool when beachfront, well man-o-wars, and jellyfish once the sea water is hot.
I found this site in a search as my chlorine tabs seem not to be working, I believe they are now at 3 years old since I did not have a pool last year. So the search led me here as no general search was close to answering my question about shelf life at higher temps. I have 3 year old chlorine tabs that I use in my stored water and our summer temps are 84 at night and 93 day, all sites say tabs should be stored below 80 degrees or so. No site I could find tells me how long my tabs last at a higher temp like this for 5 months.
