The last two days the pool breaker trips randomly. We replaced the control panel on the salt water system. It was left outside all winter since it is hardwired and the manufacturer stated that it’s perfectly fine. I’m trying to figure out why the panel keeps tripping. We triple checked all the wiring and everything is how it’s supposed to be. Could the new panel be shorting out? No error lights are being displayed on the panel.

Is it a GFCI breaker? If so it is more likely a GFCI trip then an over amp short circuit.

What devices does the pool breaker power?

Diagnosing a breaker trip when it feeds multiple devices can be furstrating. You need to disconnect the devices one by one until you isolate which device is causing the trip. Random trips make it more time consuming to diagnose.

It is a GFCI that controls the pump and swg. They are wired together to the timer so they can turn on and off together. Right now I have the salt system completely off to see if it trips again.

Are you adding liquid chlorine to your pool while you have the SWG shut off?

Yes I have been adding liquid chlorine for about a month. The panel was under warranty and it finally came in on Friday. Installed it yesterday. The pool ran for about 2 hours and then it tripped. We reset it and everything ran fine until the timer shut it down like normal. Today it’s tripped twice so far. Let’s just say I’m not happy with this salt system that is just a year old 😤

The control board is brand new.I attached a picture of the panel with the brand name.
