With my PDA Aqualink P4 can I set my heat only heat pump as a gas heater?

The reason I’m asking is I need one more Aux and when you set dip switches for heat pump it uses the extra Aux. I think it’s because some heat pumps can also chill and maybe the Aux is used for that. So would I be able to set it as a gas fire heater instead? If so do I have to use the two wire set up or can I use the Four wire RS485 connection?

I think the only difference between the gas heat and the heat pump is the gas heat has a cool-down cycle. Since having a cool down cycle won't hurt the heat pump I don't see a reason you couldn't set Aqualink for a gas heater and use the fireman's terminals to control the heat pump. Hopefully someone else chime's in I don't want to give bad advice. If it was me, I would just do it though.

What does the below "Heat Pump" button do on your system? It is disabled on mine because I have gas heat.

Mine has 2 set points. Do you have 2? I just click one (or both) of the heat buttons on the home screen and away it goes. Sorry not sure what you are asking.
