Hey folks,

Got a return line leak and pool repair guy dug into concrete but found this older type flexible pipe connected to return. He stopped and is getting a subcontractor to come visit and repair as wasn’t sure how it’s connected. Any ideas ?

Welcome to TFP! I can see the flex pipe and band clamp used to secure it to "something" that goes to your return. Can't tell if it's clamped directly to a straight pipe, or perhaps a PVC adapter of sorts with a lip or barb that would allow the clamp to remain in place? Looks like some old-school work and is probably an opportunity to make a stronger, more reliable connection at this point. @Poolbreh what do you think?

Hey guys,

Here is a close up. Looks to be some old kind of flexible hose connected to return line wall connection under deck etc

Can I just rip the flexi out and glue pvc pipe into the white wall plate or would that be a no no.

The water is still in pool and using over deck solution at mo. That line worked until we started losing 3” a week this year

The water is coming out between the flexi pipe and white wall plate connection

Thanks, yes it was hooked up and working. My question though is on that connection to the white wall plate. What’s the risk of ripping out that flex connection from the wall plate? Do I need a special connection to that wall plate or can I just stick and glue Sch40 directly into it ?

Thanks
