Above ground pool, sediment always on the bottom

Hello!
I have an above ground pool, holds 10.5k litres.
I’m in a hard water area in London .
I filled the pool up 3 days ago, chlorine levels and ph is fine. I shocked pool on evening 1 to get some chlorine into it.
There are already some wispy lines of grey/white sediment on the bottom that disappear into the water when I try to remove them with the net.
I had this last year as well and could not solve it. Eventually the pool goes super cloudy and I can’t recover it.
Any ideas? I’m guessing it must be calcium? If so how do I fix it?
We are in South Alabama, USA and for 27 years we have had that same sediment on the bottom of our pool. We have to run our Polaris vacuum continuously just to keep the pool from looking dirty. If we run the pool without the Polaris, in 2 short hours the pool bottom is covered with that fine sediment. I can backwash every single day and the water is brown. It‘s never ending and 2 different pool companies could not help me. We have had 3 filters and 3 liners and 3 Polaris vacuums changed out and nothing has made it go away. I am to the point where I am going to fill in out 39000 gallon pool.

Welcome to TFP! Sediment can be several things. Algae, dirt/dust, pollen, etc. The first place we would start is with a full set of "reliable" test results. We'll let you know now even pool store testing is commonly flawed, and so is their advice. You would be best served to obtain a TF-100 (link in my signature) or Taylor K-2006C tests kit first, then post a full set of those results. That's how we base all our advice form this forum.

Also be sure to update your signature. See mine as an example. List how you chlorinate and if you are on a well. All of this will come into play.

Checkout our Pool Care Basics for more info. We'll be happy to help you through this sediment mystery.

I too constantly get sediment at the bottom of my pool. We have a forest behind us and pine trees on the property line which are always dropping stuff in the pool. When the winds pick up we usually get dirt settling on the bottom. Even after I've cleaned the filter throughly, ran the robot etc. I still get a dusting on the pool floor a few hours later. Kinda annoying, but it is what it is.
