And
Just a quick reminder of why pool store suggestions are usually terrible-
She was gonna have u tank your ph - especially if that was 31.45% acid.
SLAM Process ON 👍🏻
that is why I made sure to check! Especially when she said I needed a $50 bottle of something.

Just retested (weather has been awful)
FC 7.5
PH 7.2!

Now one more question…
I rechecked CYA yesterday after reading some other threads. I had originally started at 30, but I did the test inside. I made sure to do it outside yesterday and got 40. I’m assuming I should have my FC target at 16 now, correct?

Well, no change as of now. My new issue is we leave town tomorrow morning and will not be home until late Monday eve. My mother I. Law will be here taking care of our pets. How much chlorine should I have her add daily?

You can teach her how to test FC and use pool math in 10 minutes. Because you had to do it 3 times. 😁

Then she could hit it with percision whenever she stopped by.
Well, I won’t see her before. She lives 3 hrs from us. I’m going to ask her to add morn and night. I just don’t want it to be any worse when we get home.

FaceTime(etc) and walk her though it ? If you tell her a half gallon she doesn't need to be spot on. Close is better than wrong, and WAY better than nothing.

Well, thank you. I’ll figure something out. She is mid 70’s, FaceTime is not an option. She’s mainly there to keep my dogs fed and watered lol.

OK. Have a safe trip. :) we'll be here for you when you get back.

5 ppm a day will hopefully be like hitting the pause button. If your dosing needs were fairly consistent, I'd personally have her add as you were doing. There is assumed risk involved, just to be totally clear. (Bleached liner) But with green water, the FC should be down by the next dog feeding time. The next 4 days will likely behave as the last without frequent dosing.

We just helped someone who's schedule was not helpful for SLAM. It took him over two weeks to get to the part that most have in two days. The process works even when it's slow due to other commitments.

Sounds good. I was hoping to have it done by the time we left. Yesterday, I didn’t lose much at all. It’s seems so different then it was last year. We leave again a few days after we get back for the weekend too…my 16 yr old will be here though so I’m hoping he will help take care of it for me. It would be nice to come home to a clear pool 😆

Teens can & should totally do pool care stuffs- with direction/guidance of course. I have no doubt that my 15yr old could carefully dose the pool & check skimmers, robot baskets etc. while I was away. You gotta pay to play!

He most definitely is capable but he is rarely home with work, football and wrestling. He hates the pool 😂

Anyway, got home late last night and this morn I came out to an aqua pool and could see the bottom well. Lots of debris from storms yesterday as well. I gave her a schedule to follow based on how I had been dosing and it seem to help. After cleaning filter, brushing etc earlier today, we are back to a light green. Still better than last wk though! PH was a little high so I adjusted that, then started slam over after retesting everything. I’m hoping by Thursday we are good!
