hey folks hoping for a little guidance. My cover is full closed, when I run switch to uncover the cover the gear dogs do engage and interlock. the gear dog that I’m assuming connects into the main shaft that the liner rolls it self around doesn’t spin and it appears the gear dog slips and isn’t stationary on the shaft….is this due to the little set screws inside of them or am I just completely thinking wrong? Was looking for some advice before I take things apart. My main question is if that right dog gear is suppose to be attached to the main shaft that the miner rolls up on, thanks

If this is a Coverpools cover it is likely a sheared roll pin. It is not too hard to fix if you are reasonably handy. You will need a drift punch (1/4" I think) to drive out the remains of the old pin and then drive in a new one.

The bigger issue is to inspect the ropes, cover, track, etc as usually these break because the friction has gotten to high to pull the cover open. If you have the deck-top tracks using a pressure washer or good hose nozzle to wash the accumulated dirt out of the tracks can help.
