So the pump that came with our setup died. Completely rusted out. We have only had it for 2 1/2 years. Anyway my husband found a 3/4 HP rigid well pump for super cheap the same day the pump went out. He replaced the broken one and now we have air in the system we cannot get out. Is it even possible to use a well pump for the pool? It’s a 24ft AGP (metal sided)
He did have to use a reducer to connect the trap to the pump but no leaks at that joint. He had a good prime when he first started it up and return flow was great. He second guess that the trap wasn’t full and opened it to let the air out and now we cannot get the air out of the system. I realize this could be a whole lot of different issues. We just need to know where to start. Thanks for any help. Here is a picture of the new pump. It does have a pressure switch on it so maybe that needs to come off?

Can you take a picture of the setup as well? This type of pumps are not designed for pool. From personal experience they tend to loose prime easily, but not an expert.
